* UPDATE: Excited to be featured on the Designer Blogs website as a result of this post! Click here to check it out :)
I announced the NEW website about two weeks ago on all my social media accounts, but wanted to share the design process on the blog! First off, I need to give a shout-out to Monica from Designer Blogs, the company that designed the website. She also designed all LYDD branding: the logo, Facebook cover & profile pic, Twitter background, Etsy banner & avatar (shop not open yet), website favicon, watermark, & this blog’s header title. You can find many of these items featured under their Portfolio section. My color inspiration came from the above picture found on one of my favorite websites, The Perfect Palette!
When ordering a logo design from Designer Blogs, usually the process goes like this: they come up with 3 different designs from which you choose & then go from there. However, I knew exactly what I wanted before the process began so I sent Monica sketches & practically wrote a novel explaining my ideas. I will admit, I was that girl – the total control freak lol. But it’s important to love your branding 100% when you are a business owner b/c it is what represents you! Here are some of my original draft ideas & how the final products turned out in the end thanks to Monica’s awesomeness…
I knew I wanted the logo shape to be circular & so this flower was born!
I got a little carried away with the loopiness of the “L” at first! And once Monica showed me that pretty lower case font, I was in love & never looked back.
Fb Cover & Pic
I think my favorite part of the final is the faint gray petals Monica added! Btw, the cover pic got one last mini facelift recently, see the latest here…& feel free to LIKE the page : )
Ok ya’ll here it is! I’ve been waiting a LONG time to finally announce that the website is completely finished – Check it out LIVE here!
HAVE A GREAT WEEK
